::Major Projects of the Center
        National Pingtung University of Science and Technology is founded from Institute of Agriculture. It is specialized in many fields of applied science, including Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Animal Science. The researches are mostly concerning tropical species due to the location of this university being in the southern tropical area. Therefore, this Center set its main theme on researches about tropical species as well. Major projects include:
1.      Ethanol botany: inventory and sustainable usage of traditionally used plant resources.
2.      Wetland ecosystems: inventory on species composition, degraded mechanisms, and rehabilitation.
3.      Invasive species: inventory, impacts on local ecosystem functions, and risk assessment of invasive plants and animals.
4.      Eco-community and sustainable campus: creating campus and community with biodiversity-rich and ecologically-sound environments.
Besides the above projects, this Center is currently laying out “Studying Programs of Biodiversity,” a project sponsored by the Minister of Education for promoting the education for biodiversity.
::Sections of the Center
        There are four sections in this Center, namely, Gene Information Section, Species Section, Ecosystem Section, and Public Affairs Section. Missions of each section are as follow.

Applied researches and education about the evolution, genetics, inventory, compiling, and techniques of genes for animals, plants, microbiology, and marine biology.
2.      Species Section:
Conservation researches and education about the variation, inventory, compiling, techniques of species for animals, plants, microbiology, and marine biology.
3.      Ecosystem Section:
